«I like talking about commercialization of the beauty of the Amazon» explains Evangelista, who lives in Xixuaú (in a stilt house) with her husband Francisco, hunter, fisherman and harvester, whom she married 7 years ago.  

«The ecological warning shouldn’t make us forget the part of the Amazon still healthy: a great opportunity for the people who live there» 

This is how the first initiatives of the so-called community-based tourism, where the inhabitants work as guides, cooks, managers of the lodge that has been built. Or even the support for the harvesting of the amazon nut, through the construction of an exchange network among cooperatives.
